Who we are
Advocacy and Community Together is a nonpartisan coalition of Greater Mankato nonprofits using our collective power to provide accurate resources and advocate for the sector.
The nonprofit sector in the Greater Mankato area is a mighty force, providing vital services. Across Southwest Minnesota, nonprofits generated $1.9 billion in economic activity in 2023.
Advocacy and Community Together provides opportunities for nonprofit partners, elected officials, government agencies, community members, and other stakeholders to support the nonprofit organizations that provide so much to our region.
Advocacy and Community Together
Steering Committee
This project started as a real grassroots coalition, built on connections by leaders across the diverse nonprofits in Greater Mankato to advocate not just for the causes our organizations care about, but for the sector as a whole.
Join is in sharing your support but learning more and supporting the organizations that are leaders in this work.
Why do nonprofits matter in Greater Mankato?
Nonprofits are the backbone of a thriving community. They help fill gaps in care and services, foster social cohesion, and support neighbors in need.
What impact do they have?
Last year, nonprofit organizations in our region served tens of thousands of people — offering everything from food assistance and mental health support to youth programs, arts enrichment, and environmental stewardship.
What does this mean for our community?
When nonprofits are strong, Greater Mankato is strong. ACT works to ensure these organizations have the tools, visibility, and support they need so all our residents benefit — through safety nets, culture, opportunity, and connection.
